If you’re moving to Leeds, one of the biggest decisions you’ll face is whether to live in Hyde Park or the City Centre. Both are massively popular with students and young professionals, but they offer completely different lifestyles.
Rent: Hyde Park is generally cheaper, ideal on a student budget. The City Centre costs more, particularly in modern developments.
Hyde Park: house parties, gigs at the Brudenell Social Club, film nights at the Hyde Park Picture House, and Woodhouse Moor in summer. City Centre: Greek Street, the O₂ Academy, Trinity and Victoria Gate on the doorstep.
Commute: Hyde Park is a 10-minute walk to campus. City Centre is a walk to the office, the station, and everything else. Hyde Park if you want community and a bit of chaos. City Centre if you want convenience and a city buzz.
